Originally grown by Yakima Chief, Ahtanum® was named after Charles Carpenters’s homestead, Ahtanum, which is a small community in Yakima County, Washington, near Moxee City. In 1869, Charles Carpenter brought hop roots to the Yakima Valley, thus establishing the first hop farm in the Yakima.
